Collective IMPACT is an agenda for collective action against barriers to holistic human development. It is a non-profit human security and social change communication organization. It employs strategic communication approaches to foster human security and social development. It is based in Tamale, Northern Region of Ghana.

Collective IMPACT was founded in May 1996(as RUMNET) and operates in all the five regions of northern Ghana – Upper West, Upper East, North East, Savannah and Northern. Human security is imperative in the northern ecological zone, where a combination of social, economic, cultural and personal challenges constrain people’s ability to wholly meet their basic needs, prioritize their lives and have full access to opportunities for decent living.

Insecurity, indignity, indigence and social exclusion are complex problems confronting most communities in Northern Ghana. Citizens are unable to fully access available opportunities because of systemic and structural barriers. Yet the holistic development of Northern Ghana is linked to the wellbeing of each and every citizen. There are other development organizations addressing some of the challenges.

Collective Intelligence and Partnerships

However, Collective IMPACT has carved a niche for eliminating barriers to responsive and transparent governance and investing in people so they can reach their full potential. Consequently, Collective IMPACT strategically imparts pertinent knowledge and purposeful skills, catalyzes initiatives that support individuals, families, communities, governance and public institutions to work together to transform lives, in a peaceful environment.

Collective IMPACT works through collective intelligence and partnerships for scalable impact. In other words, Collective IMPACT’s approach to holistic development is to act jointly with other organizations to achieve a common objective, sharing responsibilities, costs and benefits in accordance with a pre-determined strategy agreed upon by all.
